Article:- 8 Essential Questions For Aspiring Ezine Editors

Online business 'newbies' have no doubt heard that offering a free newsletter is one of the best ways available to build their business and their profits. Some of the benefits include:

Increased credibility
Leverage for profitable Joint Ventures
More exposure through article reprints, for example
An additional source of income through advertising sales

While publishing a newsletter can be a very profitable venture, the fact of the matter is, they're also a lot of work. Here are a few things to think about before you get started.

1. What Type of Newsletter Do You Want to Write?

The type of material you include in your newsletter is as endless as your imagination. Some suggestions include:

Featured Article
Useful Website Pick
Reader Q&A
Letter to the Editor
Surveys or Polls
Product Reviews
Suggestion/Help Column for Subscriber Websites or Products
Tip of the Day
Inspirational Quote

2. Where Will You Get Your Content?

Will you write all the content yourself, get others to write it for you (ghost-writers), or use 'recycled' articles from other writers?

Fresh, original content is best. It gets tiresome when you see the same article in 7 different newsletters! If you don't think you can manage writing *all* of your content, perhaps you can compromise: mostly your own writing, with the occasional third-party article thrown in.

3. How Often Do You Plan to Publish?

One of the advantages of offering a free ezine is the opportunity to build a relationship with your readers. They come to know you and trust you, and you, in turn, learn what types of products or services they're interested in.

A newsletter that's published too infrequently runs the risk of being forgotten by its readers. On the other hand, one that's published too often may annoy its readers and cause them to unsubscribe or delete the message.

Many popular ezines are published once a week or once every two weeks. Use that as a *guideline* for determining your own publishing schedule.

4. Can You Afford a Professional List Manager?

A list manager automates the tedious task of subscription management. In other words, it automatically handles subscribe and unsubscribe requests from your readers.

There are many good list managers available. Some are 'free'; that is, you may use them for free if you accept third-party advertising in your message or, alternatively, delivered to your mailbox.

Professional list managers will require an investment. They will allow you to send out ad-free messages (and keep your mailbox free of more advertising!) and typically offer a number of features not available in the 'free' version.

5. Will You Accept Advertising?

New editors often choose to offer free ads to new subscribers. This is supposed to help them build their lists more quickly. On the other hand, you could end up with subscribers who join just to get a free ad, and who never bother to read your newsletter.

Most newsletters start to charge for advertising around the 1000 subscribers mark. If you choose to do so, take a look at similar ezines within your niche market to see what types of rates they charge.

6. Should You Publish an Email or Web-Based Newsletter?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. You could choose to do both: send an email newsletter and archive each issue on the web. Another alternative is to publish on the web, but send out an email notification with a brief blurb about each article. Include a tracking URL for each article and you'll be able to see which topics interest your visitors the most!

7. How and Where Will You Promote?

There are many free ways to promote your ezine. The question is, Do you have time to do it? Free methods include:

Ezine directories
Message boards, where appropriate
Article submissions to websites and other editors
Ad swaps
Signature files
eBooks
... and more.

Ezine promotion requires ongoing effort. If you don't have the time, desire, 'know-how' or traffic to build your subscription base on your own, you may have to consider using one or more of the 'pay-per-subscriber' services available online.

8. How Much Time Do You Have to Devote to Your Newsletter?

This is the bottom line. How much time can you spare to produce a quality newsleter? Write a couple of sample issues to get a feel for how much time it takes. You may need to make adjustments; for example, you might decide to cut down on the number of articles you offer in each issue, but publish more frequently.

Article:- How to Build An Opt-In Mailing List.

One of the powerful tools in online “email” marketing is to build an opt-in mailing list. An opt-in mailing list is a database of peoples’ names and email addresses that have subscribed to an email list via a web form giving that list owner permission to send them periodic emails on the topic they are interested in. The best gift of this powerful tool is the possibility of being able to talk to people who are particularly interested in your product, service or organization.

This gaining popularity of building opt-in mailing list is known as Permission Email Marketing.

There are do’s and don’ts in starting your opt-in mailing list. Here are some of the most important tips worth mentioning:

DO’S

1. Put a subscription form prominently on your website. You can create your own subscription form using a software Sign-Up to’s form builder.

2. Inform people that they can subscribe to your email list on the signature of your normal work emails. This will enable it to link straight through the form on your website.

3. Ask people permission if they do want to be subscribed on your mailing list. As much as possible avoid being suspected for SPAM.

4. Open options for subscription especially during your interactions with them. Always be ready with your subscription cards if you run in on events.

5. Be clear on how people can benefit from subscribing and how often will you contact them. Make them know exactly what they will be receiving.

6. If you can, contact new subscriber as soon as you can. Welcome them with notes and tell them what to expect.

DON’T

1. Add everyone who has ever emailed you to your list. Always ask permission first.

2. Purchase lists that you are not 100% sure that are opt-in. Always have an evidence to prove the legitimacy of the opt-ins.

3. Abuse people’s trust. This is a sure way to ruin your brand and you. Soon enough they will ignore your messages.

Building your opt-in mailing list is cheaper than in sending direct mails. Printing, envelopes and paper used as material further add up to the cost. Here are some ways to effectively start your opt-in mailing list:

1. Free Newsletter. One of the most effective ways to build an opt-in list is to offer your online visitors freebies of value such as newsletter which will contain information that they can relate to such as tips, tools, recipes, travel itineraries and others.

2. Make it Easy to Subscribe. Provide easy steps for subscription so that subscribers may find it easy to do so and would not be discourage. For more subscribers, tell them the exact benefits they can get out of the subscription.

3. Quality Content. Be sure that what is written inside the newsletter, freebies and information found in your website are all of value to increase visitors dropping by your website.

4. Forums. Discussion boards and forums are all over the net. Try to actively participate in these boards especially those in the line of your interest or your business. Try to build your reputation with credibility.

5. Write articles. This makes you an instant expert in your chosen field of interest. You just have to play on it and use it well in your business goal.

6. Co-registration. A very effective way to build a monster list in a very short time.

7. Write an e-book. An excellent freebie for those who visited and subscribe in your mailing list. The e-book does not have to be expensively made or elaborate but it can be a compilation or a collection of best articles, business tips and resources.

In building opt-in mailing lists always keep in mind to offer something of value to your prospects. Remember opt-in lists are the foundations of most profitable internet business so do not miss chances for improvement and developing new strategies.

Having an opt-in list is not easy, it is hardwork but with some relieving advantages too. But to build an opt-in mail list has to be focused and effective in truly capturing the desired target. Take a look at these 10 Quick Easy Steps to Building A Highly Targeted and Responsive Opt-in List.

1. Choose your target market or niche. Remember you are not the only one competing in internet marketing; you have to be sure who your internet marketing is.

2. Be sure that you can reach your target audience online.

3. Do not waste on time on a non-profit investment or spending. Always monitor your spending.

4. Forums and discussion boards are available for maximum use. Find your target market problems.

5. Identify what is keeping your customers from getting what they want and help them get it.

6. Try offering your viewers solving some of their problems.

7. Set up a simple direct response mini-site.

8. Get an auto-responder account. It is important for you to acquire and set this thing up because this is where your visitors will come.

9. Bait your potential customers through giveaways like: ebooks, special reports, mini courses and coupons, etc.

10. Reach out in any way you can to your target market.

Opt-in building is a tedious work but with amazing results. The process of building it takes time and effort but persists. Always treat your “find” as a goldmine so that you will offer them the best deals in the market, those with great quality and value. Doing all these, would earn you credibility and a profitable business on the Internet.

Here’s to your internet success.

Article - How To Use Web Forums To Build Your Business

Forums on the Internet are online communities where people can discuss many different topics ranging from cooking to Christianity. This article will help you build your Internet business, using the power of Internet forums. Forums will increase traffic to your website, will help you interact with experts in your field, and will help you get a great education.

Discussions are conducted by posting notes to the forum. Each discussion is called a thread. Some forums have just a few threads and other forums have hundreds of threads going at the same time.

What is truly remarkable about the use of forums is the personal quality of the discussions. Read some of the posts on forums and you'll soon see that the members become more like neighbors (and even friends) than strangers connected only by the keyboard and monitor in front of them.

Where brick and mortar businesses used to prosper based on their involvement in the community, online businesses now have a neighborhood all their own – online forums.

Online forums are a great place to connect with others who are knowledgeable about your business. You probably cater to the same audience and share a common interest. If your businesses compliment one another you might just find a highly profitable partnership or joint venture. :

Along with the referrals you may get when you've developed a trusted online presence with other members of the forum, you are also likely to attract targeted visitors to your website.

Most forums allow you to post a signature line that includes a website URL, onto every post that you make. When someone that is visiting the forum sees your post and clicks on your link, you get traffic to your website.

Most people that go to the Internet are looking to get their questions answered and they often go to the forums. The first go to the search engines, then to the forums. When they find your post, there is an opportunity for them to click on your link and go to your website.

Forums give you access to thousands of people that are all seeking the answers to the same questions that you have. When you participate in forums you are basically getting access to brainpower. Ask questions and you open yourself up to a great education. You will also discover new developments and opportunities that you never knew about. Forums also give you access to experts that have much more experience than you do.

Using the forums wisely can open you up to a great education. Whether it is from fellow entrepreneurs in your field or experts and other posters - you are participating in an 'inner circle' type discussion that may open your eyes to new developments and opportunities in your business.

Be very cautious to follow forum rules. Never spam a forum. Your aim should be to participate in a conversation, not interrupt it. Make it the goal of every post to add value to the discussions. Take the time to research to provide good information to the fellow members of the forum. They will appreciate it. Remember that behind every post is a real person. Put yourself in the other people’s shoes. Will they see you as a spammer or a contributor?

Look into forums today. Go to the search engines and type forums plus key words that relate to your particular niche. You will easily find a forum that caters to your particular business. Sign up and start participating. Get involved and start asking and answering questions. You will notice that you will gain more traffic to your website, you will grow in your understanding of your industry, and you will make new friends.

Here’s to your internet success.

Random Question Of The Week

This weeks random question isn't from a customer. It's from my

youngest daughter Rian. She's 11 years old and was in her English

class in school the other day when her teacher was talking about

inventions. She thought to herself :

"If I could invent something that hasn't been invented yet,

what would it be and why?"

If you want to find out what she came up with you will have to pop

over to the blog and take a look. While you are there, post your

own answer. There is $25 worth of products for free for the most

interesting answer. So get posting.

Free Website Promotion...Why Not?

Can you ever avail of free website promotion? Is that even feasible?

Of course yes! Nowadays, your baby website can amass huge traffic in no time thanks to free website promotion.

How does this free website promotion go anyway? What things are to be done?

1. Enlist your website.

Look for the hottest Internet directories and enlist your site there. This is the easiest and most effective free website promotion tactic. Start with this step and the rest of the good things will follow.

Just don't forget to prep your website and make it all spruced up for a higher chance to get accepted in your directory of choice.

2. Know your forums.

One reason why forums are created is for free website promotion for everyone. Log in, post actively, let them know about your site in every post and you attract instant visitors right there.

3. Write a press release.

Release your writing prowess and start up a press release that advertises your site! This is a free website promotion tactic that you can do anytime. Type a brief paragraph or two and email it to your friends, colleagues, internet e-zines, newspapers and other media and massive traffic will come to you pronto!

4. Be friendly online.

Free website promotion means you need to be friendly to other webmasters. Why, you ask? So they can link you immediately! Establish contacts and never tire of link requests and exchanges.

5. Write an article.

Say, your website is about your travel agency. Write an article about the perks of travelling or the hottest travel spots in the world. On the concluding paragraph, mention your website in passing. This article works as an advertorial and doubles as a free website promotion approach.

6. Just let the whole world know about your site.

What is free website promotion without the word of mouth? Insert your website, its URL and features in daily conversations and let the good news spread from one mouth to another!

7. Make a banner ad.

Make a banner ad for your site and ask another webmaster to do the same for his site. Then swap!

8. Take up a free website promotion course online.

Yes, there are free website promotion tutorials. But don't you know that you can actually take a free website promotion course that can help you out further? Part of the free website promotion program is signing up for newsletters.

When you make a website, you need not pay anything to promote it. You just read it -- there is such a thing as free website promotion!

Here’s to your internet success.

Article - Email Marketing and Opt In List Building: Keeping Online Businesses Profitable

Since the advent of the information technology, the Internet had been a valuable commodity to most people. Here, they find ways on how to earn more money even without having to spend more capital on building a business.

Nowadays, many business people are realizing the importance of email marketing. Through emails, an online business can market their product directly through their customers.

Generally, the main purpose of email marketing is to reach their target audience as quickly and as direct as possible. They need to reach their target market so as to promote their products and services that would benefit their customers.

However, some businesses use email marketing in order to maintain their contact and relationship with their customers.

The reason why email marketing has grown in such an unprecedented rate is based on the fact that people in the virtual community are always hungry for information. They subscribe to information that they are interested in.

On the other hand, not all people are willing to subscribe to such information. They may be interested on your products once but may no longer be interested to buy again. Moreover, when you continue to send those emails that do not have their permissions, you can be accused of spamming.

Today, spamming is a serious offense especially in the world of information technology. Because the Internet is such a wild place, most authorities regard the privacy of each person as valuable and they continue to uphold this thinking even on the Internet.

With this, the creation of opt in list had gained tremendous acceptance. Because of its viability and feasibility to most online businesses, a lot of people have realized how important opt in lists are in email marketing.

Basically, opt in list refers to the list of email addresses of people who have agreed to subscribe to your mailing list. In this way, you can freely send emails that entail promotions, brochures, new product announcements, and every aspect of your marketing campaign.

When you build an opt in list, you do not only increase the probability of being successful in email marketing but also boost your sales and profits as well. This is because building an opt in list will give you the chance to stay in contact with your customers by getting their email address.

In this manner, you can continue to promote your products and services in which they are interested in because they have opted to subscribe in your mailing list. Hence, whatever it is that you feed them, chances are, they will most likely respond positively.

In reality, building an opt in list is actually letting the people realize the charisma and magic of email marketing. In this way, spams will be avoided, if not eliminated, and will not ruin the positive image of email marketing.

With spamming, email marketing becomes a disgraceful activity in the Internet. But with opt in list, online businesses can continue to boost their businesses through email marketing without having to worry about being accused of spamming.

When building opt in list, there are two types to be considered. The first one is the single opt-in and the other one is the double opt-in or the confirmed opt-in.

In building single opt-in lists, online businesses would simply use a “sign-up tag” in their web sites so that every time a person visits their website, he or she can opt to subscribe in the business’ email list.

On the other hand, a confirmed opt-in list or double opt-in entails a confirmation message after the customer had subscribed to the particular web site’s email list.

Usually, the confirmation takes place by replying on a system-generated message that asks for a confirmation of the subscription or by clicking on a link that entails the confirmation of the customer.

Whatever type of opt in list you would prefer, each has its own pros and cons when it comes to email marketing. But nevertheless, both are designed to give your online business the best solution possible in order to generate emails and permissions without having to get into trouble.

Indeed, email marketing is such a profitable business in the Internet. But it would not be complete and will never succeed without the help of the opt-in lists. These two must always go hand-in-hand in order to be successful in the virtual world of Internet marketing.

Here’s to your internet success.

Beginners Guide to Blogging

A blog is basically an online journal wherein you can digitally pen down your thoughts, ideas, opinions and practically anything that you want people to read. Blogs come in different styles, formats, and settings, depending on the preference of the user. Many blogging sites, offer built in features such as hyperlink, straight texts, pictures etc. Some blogging sites, even allow you to put video and mp3's on your blogs.

Instead of writing texts, some bloggers choose to make their blogs more audio friendly, by using spoken word entries. This is called audio blogging.

Basically a blog contains these features:

Title- which allows you to label your post
Body- this is the content of your post
Trackback- other sites can be linked back to your blog

Comments- this allow readers to post comments on your blog.

One of the advantages of blogging is that it is made of only a few templates. Unlike other websites that are made up of numerous individual pages. This make it easier for blog users to create new pages, because it already has a fix setting that include: slots for title, body of the post, category, etc.

This is especially useful for first time users, since they can start blogging right away. They can choose from a number of templates that blogging websites provide.

Anyone who wants to start a blog can do so by becoming a member of a blogging website of their choice. Once they've become members, they automatically become a part of that particular blogging community. They can browse through other bloggers pages, and link them back to their own blogs. A lot of entrepreneurs benefit from blogging by promoting their businesses on their blogs, with millions and millions of people logging onto the net everyday, blogging has become a lucrative move. Some bloggers who run online businesses promote their merchandise online. While others profit through advertisement.

But by far, the most popular blog type is the one that takes the form of a personal journal. This is the kind that is usually used by first time bloggers. Blogs varying in topics, themes, and set-ups, can be found in blog directories. First time users who want to get an idea of what the blogging world is all about can browse through a number of blogs using these directories. This way they'd get an idea of what these blogging communities are like.

Blogging is popular all over the world. Blog is short for the term web log. There are no rules when it comes to blogging. Bloggers have the freedom to express themselves how ever way they want, and the best thing about blogging, is that most blogging sites are free.

are available online, you may have decided to search
for and use a free autoresponder for your marketing
needs. Using free autoresponders is acceptable in
certain situations, and in the world of Internet
marketing, any autoresponder is better than not
using an autoresponder at all!

Your first option for a free autoresponder should be
the one that comes with your web hosting account –
if you have a web hosting account. These
autoresponders can easily be set up through the
control panel of your website, and they do not
contain advertisements from the autoresponder
company or web hosting service. If you do not have
a hosting account, or you’re hosting
account does not include autoresponders, there are
other options that you can pursue.

There are many free autoresponder services to
choose from. These services are free, because the
company makes their money by placing a small
advertisement in each message that your
autoresponder sends out. These advertisements
may appear at the top of your auto responses, or at
the bottom, depending on which company you use.

Many paid autoresponder services offer a free version
as well. These free versions may or may not include
advertisements in the outgoing messages. These
lighter versions of the paid autoresponders typically
do not include many of the powerful features of the
paid versions. But if you don’t need the more
advanced features, this is a great choice.

Most free autoresponders have a limit on the number
of subscribers you can have. Many people start out
with the limited free versions, and then upgrade to
the paid versions once their lists are large enough
to exceed those limits. Many marketers don’t feel
that the expense of the autoresponder is warranted
until the list that they are building is turning a profit.
From a business standpoint, this makes sense.

As the owner of a business, you are the only one
who can decide whether you need a paid
autoresponder service, or if a free one will do the job.
If your list is small, a free autoresponder should do
everything that you need it to do, but as your list
grows, you should definitely consider upgrading.
However, having the small advertisements that the
free services place in the outgoing
messages may present a problem if the ads
compete with what you are trying to sell. They may
even pose a problem if they do not directly compete
with your product or business. Again, this depends
on what you are trying to accomplish with your
autoresponder.

Here’s to your internet success.

Question of the week

A guy is walking across the beach when he finds what looks like a genie's lamp. He picks it up and gently gives it a rub. To his amazement, a beautiful Genie pops out.

"Finder of the magic lamp, I grant but 1 wish. I am only able to offer you 1 of 2 things, you must choose. You may have $1,000,000 or true love. What will it be?"

The question is, what would YOU do?

I can't wait to hear what you all have to say, so get posting guys.

Best Wishes,

Article - How To Advertise Your Internet Business For Free - Part 1

There are several very effective ways to advertise you business without having to pay a fortune. It can in fact be done for free, with incredible results. Even if you have a large budget available for paid advertising, the free methods should still be utilized because they are so affective. There are some methods of free advertising that work like a charm, other free methods fall flat and are useless. If you are fairly new to the internet business, you will not know which one's work and which one's don't.

A colleague of mine, Julie, spent $1000's on her advertising campaign when she first started her online business. It almost 'broke the bank' and the business nearly went under because the paid advertising wasn't working as she had expected it to. Out of shear desperation, she turned to free advertising. She tried every method that she could find. After a solid 18 months of setting up and promoting her business she was about to lose the lot if she couldn't turn the financial situation around. Julie trawled the internet, read every free report, article and ecourse that she could find. Frantically, she set about her mission of free advertising. How many ways are there to get free advertising? There are actually many ways, but as I mentioned, some work, some don't. Julie used them all. Each time she discovered a method, she put it to use.

She started off placing free classified ads. It took her days to manually place 100's of ads. There is software out there that will practically automate this procedure, but by now Julie had no many left to purchase it.

As she was placing the classified ads, she varied the wording. She changed the title, ad copy and the categories in which she posted them. Even though they where all leading to the same thing, the effect of changing words can have a profound result. Different people process information in diverse manners. What appeals to one person will have no effect on another. So in order to apply to a larger audience, differing the wording of ads is important.

Julie found the sites to post her ads on by typing 'classified ads online' into the search box of her browser. She also used similar searches, varying the description slightly. Then she discovered another way of placing classifieds, other than the traditional approach.

Forums!!!

This has recently become a very hot way of drumming up business and is swiftly growing in popularity. Even the big guru's use it. You'll find postings from most of the 'big boys' in the internet world all over the forums.

After a few days, Julie started to see a lot of new traffic visiting her site. They where signing up for her newsletter and her conversion rate started to creep up. At least things where going in the right direction, slowly, but at least it was moving.

Concentrating on placing her ads on forums had a very worth while result. Within 12 hours of her first postings, she got a lot of emails from people that had seen her ad and wanted more information. She had more email queries in a week than she had had in the previous 6 months.
Some of the forums that Julie visited, she was a bit reluctant to post on. They didn't seem to be 'very busy' and where also only recently started. But being the desperate woman that she was, she decided anything was worth a try at this point.

Surprisingly, it was the newer forums that she got the most response from. Because her ad wasn't buried amongst 1000's, it was far more noticeable. She also found that some of these newer sites where growing very rapidly. As long as you follow the rules that the forum set out for posting and don't abuse the system, this is a very successful way to advertise for free.

So what's the difference between posting traditional classified ads and posting on forums?

A classified ad is only seen if someone specifically goes looking for it. A classified section is just that, a section. Forums are different. They are 'sociable'. Otherwise known as message boards or discussion rooms, they are a place where random types of people interact and 'share'.
Some forums have dedicated boards where you can freely advertise your business. Others forbid advertising in a blatant, obvious way. You have to be slightly indirect and discrete. The best way to learn how to do this is to visit the forums and see what everyone else is doing.
It is quite easy to master 'discrecsion' advertising; it just takes a bit of research and practice. To explain the ins and outs of this method would be a whole article in itself, which I guess I will get around to writing soon.

By advertising on forums, your ad will be seen by a wider section of people. They might not be actively seeking what you have to offer, but will 'discover' you through the means of the forum. This then makes them targeted traffic. You just have to post in the right kind of forums to get the best results.

What forums should you use?

The type of forum to use depends on the type of business you run. The niche that you specialize in will be a guide to where to advertise. If you sell porn (tutut, but it is the biggest industry on the net) it wouldn't be very productive if you advertise on a 'Christian Content' site. Not that there is necessarily anything wrong with dealing in the porn industry, after all a lot of people have become multi millionaires through it, but the chances are that YOU deal in something completely different, I just used porn as an example.

There are several ways to find the forums that suit your genre. Visit websites that offer similar or complementary products/services ect... as you. Have a look to see if they have a forum.

I have an advertising and discussion forum where you may advertise any type of business, except porn/adult content. This is a good a place as any to start. It is a new forum and will expand rapidly over the next few weeks. So get YOUR ad posted there now and make the most of the expose explosion that is about to happen there. You'll find the forum at http://www.instantmessageboards.com/viewforum.php?f=68803

You can search the internet for forum directories. You will find all the forums categorized, so it will be quite easy to see where the best place to post your ads would be.
Another idea is to start your own forum. They are very easy to set up and manage. You can then advertise your forum to your opt-in list, website visitors and through classifieds ads directed at 'free advertising' on your forum.

What happened to Julie?

Luckily she turned her business around and is now earning a more than respectable living from it. She has abandon most of the costly advertising methods and now concentrates her efforts on the freebie option.

This is not to say that paid advertising is a waste of time. It has to be done effectively to produce good results, just like anything else.

Julie still runs paid ads in other ezines and newsletters, but covers the cost by accepting paid advertising in her own eZine. Julie also sometimes chooses to pay for 'feature' positions when submitting articles or advertising in certain editions of highly popular online media. The bottom line is, she now pays a fraction of what she was paying, and is receiving higher amounts of targeted traffic. Free doesn't necessarily mean lower quality, in fact it can be the best quality. Can advertising in free classifieds and on forums drive enough traffic?

Julie did not make her failing online business successful just through traditional and forum based classified ads alone. She used other methods too, such as writing articles and reports, ad and link exchange, traffic surfing and additional methods. I will be producing separate articles covering all of these methods of free advertising. If you read them you will find out exactly what else Julie and other successful online business people do to get free targeted traffic.

In conclusion, advertising on forums is free and affective. It is simple and straight forward. It also has the bonuses of 'getting you known as an expert' and driving extra traffic to YOUR website if you run your own forum. You could even make money by offering 'paid feature' posting on your own forum. The possibilities are endless.

If you have an internet business and you are serious about making money online, you should earnestly consider using this free opportunity to increase the traffic to your website.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Post your ads on specialist classified ads websites. More importantly, cover the forums and see the results for yourself.

Here's to your internet success.

Article - THE Most Important Tip For Newbie's - Testing, Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3.......

After putting in all of your hard work as a Newbie Webmaster, you would like everything to work properly once you have published your business to the web. This one piece of advice could make the difference between your business being a success or a failure.......

A friend on mine, John, spent months putting his online business together. He often stayed up all night working on research, web design, marketing ect... His poor wife and kids hardly ever saw him. As soon as he came in from his day job, he would shut himself away in the spare room and work on 'the business'. Then finally, he declared that everything was in place. He had a great domain name and host, fantastic niche products, an impressive website, a marketing and advertising campaign already to go. Everything was uploaded to the servers and traffic was starting to hit his site. "Wonderful" he thought. But.......... He had made a vital error.........

What did John do that was so wrong?

He didn't do enough testing. Traffic was visiting his homepage, but most of the links didn't work. They where unable to navigate to other pages on his site. The important pages, such as sales copy and free downloads where 'unavailable'. If someone tried to sign-up for his eZine, nothing happened. What a disaster!!! The volume of targeted traffic to his site was quite high, but no one stayed there for very long and no one bought anything. He wasn't able to build his opt-in list Ezine subscribers that he could email with promotional material. All the months of effort resulted in a big-fat nothing. John was devastated to say the least.

So what did John do next? He could have given up. Thrown his arms in the air with disppear and cried uncontrollably. I know a lot of people that have done this, they have given up because the think that they have failed. But once again, he locked himself away in his spare room and went to work. Every link in every page was tested, retested and tested again. All the opt-in boxes and interactive options where given the same treatment.

What John did next...

He had 7 of his friends test it all over again. He asked them to go to his site and travel around it. Click the links to the pages, use his opt-in boxes. Do things that a customer would do. For their time and trouble he gave them each a free gift. A product that he was offering for sale on his site was theirs just for spending a few minutes surfing Johns site. They all did as they where asked. Guess what? No, it didn't work perfectly. In fact, there where still several glitches. John fixed them and tested again. His friends visited his site once more. Hey Presto.....Everything worked.

Beware of 'friends'.

When relying on friends to test your site and report back, there could be a 'loyalty' issue. They are after all your friends. Their opinion may not be completely unbiased. If a friend says "It was excellent John", maybe they thought it was dodgy, but didn't want to hurt your feelings. So only pick people that you know will be totally honest with you. Their brutality is for your own good. You need to know how a total stranger would feel about your site when they visit. What your Mom thinks isn't really important.

Keep on testing.........

As time goes by you have to make changes to your WebPages. Don't forget to test the new additions. Get into the habit of checking that the older links are still in working order while your at it. By spending a little bit of time testing often can save you hours if not days of trying to put a problem right when things do go wrong. Also consider the customers that you could lose if your site/links aren't working properly.

Concluding the story of John.....

John still continues to test the links on this sites. Actually, he pays someone else to do it now. Do you know why? It's because he's earning $150,000 a year and he can afford to pay someone else. He spends most of his time jet-setting with the wife and kids he felt he had neglected in the early days of setting up the business. He still does testing himself from time to time. He learned his lesson the hard way and he won't forget it, ever...... When he spends time clicking through his sites links to make sure that they still operate, he's usually found doing so on his laptop instead of on his old pc in the spare room. He sits on the balcony of his brand new house, the sun shining as he gazes out at the beach in front of him.

So the #1 tip for Newbie and old-hand Webmasters is test, test and test again. Everything. Then get other people to do the same. Compensate them for their trouble if you can. Never over look how serious this whole testing thing is. If not done properly it can result in disaster and many online businesses fail because of it. Is your business gona succeed or fail?

Article - Why Free Makes It Easy.

Do you know what the most frequently used word is that people type in a search box on the internet? Knowing what this word is and using it to it's fullest extent can literally EXPLODE your sales if you run an online business. Let me explain.

The word that is used in searches on the internet more than any other is FREE. Everyone loves something for nothing. No one wants to pay for something if they can get it for free.

Think about all the times you have searched for something on the internet. Weather it was for information, a service, a product, in fact anything. Did you just type in the description, a keyword or phrase, or did you put 'free' before it? If you omitted the word free, when the search engines generated the results, I guarantee it gave you a list of 'related searches' containing the keywords you used with 'free' in front of them.

The benefit of giving something for free.

As an online business, if you offer a product, service or some information for free, it can have great returns. First of all it boosts your search engine rankings. As the word is typed into a search more than any other, having it optimized on your website will have amazing dividends. Once a customer has found you in their search results, further use of the word free will draw them in even more. Giving them something for nothing if they visit your site is a big attraction. In fact it is such a huge attraction that I can't emphasize how important it is.

How giving something for free can make you money.

When someone visits your site to claim their freebie, several things can happen. In order to get their free product, they have to give you their name and email address. This is the #1 reason for offering it to them in the first place. It is highly unlikely that someone will buy something on their first visit to a website. And unless there is an excellent reason for them to return, they may never visit again. By having their email address, you can contact them and remind them to revisit your site. You can offer them 'special offers' and affiliate sales through your correspondence emails.

It is a well known fact that there needs to be an average of 7 contacts (sales pitches, remind revisits, offers ect...) with a customer before they will actually buy something. The reasons for this are quite lengthy and are a whole other article, so lets stick to the matter at hand. By being able to have the important contact with your customers, your chances of them making a purchase have increased significantly. They learn to 'trust you', you become familiar to them and that is what often clinches the deal. You gain these things from your customers and then they buy. So, that's how you make money from giving away something for free.

The quality of free.

The item that you offer, weather it be a subscription to an ezine, an eBook, report or software, MUST be of good quality. If the customer receives their freebie and the quality is poor, they will not come back to your website and buy anything. Even if you are the best website in your niche, offering the best deals, they will never find out, because they just won't come back. On the other hand, if they are impressed by their free gift, they are more than likely to visit you website again and again. High quality, useful products are an essential if you want the 'freebie offer' to work for you.

How you can drive traffic to your website using 'free'.

Classified ads are a fantastic way to drive traffic to your website. The headline and description should be centred around the infamous "what's in it for me". That is offering them a freebie. This will entice them to click the link and visit your website. You can post classifieds for free. Just type 'free classifieds' into the search box in your browser and choose from the 1000's of results that the search engines produce. Submit your ads often and the traffic will keep coming.

Other ways to drive traffic using 'free'.

Simply use it anywhere your ads appear. If you publish articles, reports or ebooks, put your offer in your resource box. If you use pay-per-click, use the offer as your ad copy. Advertising in eZines, weather its your own, an affiliates or bought advertising, again use the free offer in your resource box.

Choose carefully.

When deciding on what it is that you will give way, there is one piece of advice that is vital. Make the free item appropriate to you audience. Whatever niche you operate it, stick with the theme. If you offer an eBook on 'how to knit fancy tea cosies' and your business sells musical instruments, you will be heading for a problem.

The customer will visit your website to get their eBook. They will download it and probably be very pleased if it contained high quality information on 'how to knit fancy tea cosies'. When you contact them via email with for example a 'special offer on violin strings', unless by some highly unlikely, random chance that they play the violin, they will not visit your website again. No matter how many emails you send them, their interest was tea cosies, not musical instruments. Why should they visit your site again? The fact is they won't. So be mindful of what your own niche actually wants and give it to them.

In conclusion, the more you offer freebies, the more money you will make. It is one of the best traffic drivers and is a straight forward concept. Now that you have this little golden nugget of valuable information, get to work.

Plan what you could offer your customers for free, to whom, when and where. Decide on a product that you can legally give away. Make it something that is useful to your own niche market. Advertise it everywhere you can and your opt-in-list will grow very quickly. After all 'the money is in the list', but again, that's another article.
Below is a perfect example of the 'free' offer. I didn't make it up, it's for real and it works.

Article - Why do so many Internet busineses fail?

There is an increasng number of people across the world that are seeking to start an online business. They are drawn by the amazing benifits that such a career offers. Unlimited earnings, working from home, semi autopilot business that gives sooooooooo much free time. Do you blame them?

Millions of dollars are spent every year on books that offer advice on every angle of internet business that you could imagine. With so many books being sold, you would think that many successful businesses would appear. This is not the case. Why?

Ok, so they spend their hard earned cash on a book or package that is going to change their lives. They then have the opportunity to do as the manuals instructs and get rich. The problem is they don't do anything, no action. The information just sits there. They should take the opportunity and ACT on it. Only then will they get results.

Sometimes they will make a big effort and begin the process of building their business. Soon they think "Heck, this is just too hard" and give up. They were looking for a 'quick fix' get rich quick scheme that requires no work and earns then a fortune. Such a system certainly does not exist. I'm not saying that a profit can't be earned from a 'quick fix' system, but it would not be a huge profit. If you want to earn $100,000 a year, it takes a little more work.

Why is it that people buy these products and don't use them? They want the results right? Yes, but there is usually something missing from the 'success factor' that is needed to be 'one of the big boys' in internet marketing. So whats missing? Support. Not just technical support or general advice. Guidence of a different nature is called for. Guidence in 'how to think'.

Thats right, how to think. You may well be saying "I don't need to be coached on how to think". Well, the truth is you probably do. If you where already able to think like 'one of the big boys', you'd be mega wealthy already. You need to be able to react and 'think' like they do. It isn't difficult and the results are fantabulous.

This is where 99.99% of people starting an internet business go wrong. They don't think effectively. The right book/package/system combined with the best support is the ONLY way to get to the top. Struggling on your own, without learning the other side of the 'how to', will almost always end in failure.

So if you are thinking of running an online business, be mindful when you begin and get ALL the elements that you will need for success. Then you need to act. But that's a whole other article.

Article - We don't plan to fail

We don't plan to fail.....we fail to plan. Thoses of us that actually manage to set goals often give up at the first setback. They mentally beat themself up by saying "I knew I couldn't do it, so why did I bother trying" and other such self destructive comments. Constantly telling yourself that you are a failure is only going to be self evident when once again, you fail.

Statistics are every where these days. Covering everything from 'how much of the world population likes cheese' to 'how violence on tv results in more actual violence.' The statistics concerning successful people and how they do it are not very suprising. They show that only 5% of the world population have written goals. Is it suprising then that only 5% of the same population are considered to be truely successful in life? I think not.

Doesn't that simply mean that if YOU want to be successful, you have to have written goals? You would obviously have to take action to make thoses goals happen, but without a plan all is lost.

I've asked a lot of people about what they want from life. The usual is a big house, loads of money, cars, holidays ect... Or they reply 'I duno' and just shrug their shoulders. The people that state roughly what they want have no idea how they are going to 'get there', they have no plan and consider their wants to be 'dreams', unobtainable and distant. The people that say 'I duno', will amble through life going in self defeatist circles. These people are the one's with the lowest self-esteem, lacking in confidence and feel that life is hopeless.

So, there is only 5% of the population that are successful, that means that a stagering 95% will not live their lives to the fullest. Which presentage am I in? I used to be in the 95%, but now that's all changed.. I have begun to understand and act in a way that puts me in the top 5%.

It didn't happen over night, infact it is still very much work in progress. But progress is much better than being static or going backwards. It's a bit like pushing a broken down car. You take the handbrake off and push with all your might, it's really hard work, the car starts to slowly roll forward, just a tiny bit, then a bit more, then a little faster. Before you know it you have to jump into the drivers seat and steer the car because it is moving so quickly. So there you are, sitting in the car, moving along without even pushing it. Momentum brought about by inertia.

Establishing your goals and starting to take action is just like trying to move a broken down car, hard work. But momentum kicks in after a while and things move along quicker and with less effort. Before you know it your life has turned around and you're going full speed ahead. Sounds good dosen't it, well take it from me, it is better that good, it's absolutaley amazing.

For those of you that still haven't quite 'got a grip', the message is, think like the top 5% and live your life to the max. Make written goals and plans, if you don't know where to start, ask someome, search the internet, read a book. Then start to take action and let inertia work for you. Do this and I promise you, you can't fail. Wouldn't that make a change!!!

Here's to your internet success.

The begining of my blog life.

This is a kind of pre blog entry really. Several posts will be made before the blog is 'launched'. I will try and make it as useful and interesting as possible, but YOU will have to help me. I am new to blogging and I would really appreciate any help, comments or advice.

Please post questions and suggestions. Make this blog your space as well as mine. Join me on a journey into the unknown. If there is anything that you think I should cover, just make a post and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
